Keep Your Faith Strong

Another morning and more glum news. The financial crisis is expanding around the globe, suicide bombers, and Presidential nominees who are unable to answer a question without trying to tear down their opponent.

Let's go into the book of Matthew.

25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:25-34 NKJV

What is Jesus saying here. That by faith alone we can survive. Yes. God will provide for his faithful. I'm not saying you will wake up in the moring with money in the bank, but God will provide a way for you to take care of your basic needs. We do need to be attentive here. The opportunity will be offered and we must take it.

Passage of the Day October 7th

1 Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men. 3 For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men. Titus 3:1-8 NKJV

Read these words Paul wrote to Titus. Take them to heart today and remember that we are not to judge but to do good works toward others. We once too lived in sin and unknowing. Share the Good News with somebody today. Tell them that Jesus loves them.

Take a walk with me.

Tonight I would like you to take a stroll with me. We are going to walk down a road together. It is called The Roman Road to Salvation. Well make some stops along the way. Come on, it will be a learning experience.

Stop 1
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Romans 1:20-21
God reveals himself to us through creation. On our path to salvation we must accept God as the creator and the sustainer of life.
Stop 2
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23
All men are sinners. We are born without sin but once we reach the age of accountability we become sinners.
Stop 3
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
The penalty for sin in eternal death in Hell.
Stop 4
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10
Salvation is open to anybody. A person receives God's free gift of love and life by placing faith in Jesus Christ. To believe is simply to take God at His word. With our heart (whole believing) we believe that Jesus is God's Son who died for our sin on the cross and arose from the grave to live in us as Savior and Lord. It really is that simple.
Stop 5
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13
This is our last stop and where we have to take our own path. On our walk we found out about God, death from sin, and how we can be saved. It is up to you now which path you take. If you are ready to accept Jesus as your personal savior and want God in your life, it is your decision. I cannot save you. It is between you and God.
If you are ready just say a prayer like this:
Lord, I come humbly before you. I know that I am a sinner and have not been living my life for you. I accept that your son, Jesus, died upon the cross to pay for my sins. I ask you Lord to forgive me and come into my heart. Amen.
If you have made the decision to become a Christian tonight wonderful. Now go into the bible and learn more. Find a local bible believing church and attend. Let somebody know about your salvation. Join a new believers class and look into getting baptised. You have started upon the most wonderful journey of your life.
If you are not ready to take that next step that is OK also. Join us again and learn more about Jesus and salvation.
God Bless You All.

Passage of the Day

The Promise

12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:12-14

Morning Prayer

Lord, I come humbly before you this morning. Thank you fro another day and another chance. Lord look over those with special needs today and bless them. Lord grant me the humility and wisdom I will need today in spreading your word. May what I say or actions that I take bring someone closer to you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
